Meet Luca, an AI avatar character created by Simon Clemenger for Luca AI — an intelligent conversational platform built for e-commerce leaders. Simon was commissioned to develop a unique digital character that visually represented the platform’s data insight power, conversational intelligence and future-facing technology, while also feeling approachable, friendly and human.
Using AI creative direction, concept design and character development, Simon explored ways of bringing personality and emotion into the digital world of AI branding. From the glowing binary-inspired hair to the soft facial expression and futuristic styling, every element of Luca was designed to feel intelligent, memorable and emotionally engaging.
Simon’s AI design creation work is centred around discovering personality within the pixels — blending creativity, storytelling and emerging technology to create future-facing visual concepts, characters and AI-generated imagery.
